Only 22 days to go... maybe?!!

Well, it's only 22 days until my next Doctor's appointment. It can't get here soon enough.
The weather was a record high here Sunday, 67deg, and I couldn't run.
I bought an orthodic insert & New Balance 926's that my Dr. "prescribed", and have been pain free since I started wearing them.
I must say, the 926's are an ugly shoe. I bought them in black, since the white's were even uglier.
I haven't run in over a week, and when I checked the scale, I had put on almost 9 lbs., thanks to not running & the non stop picking at the holiday food & cookies.

I feel your pain...that's what it was like this summer..perfect weather and me not allowed to run. I did do a ton of walking though, can you do that? It at least let me get outside

O, man, you need to find something else to do in the interim or your first post-dr's-visit run will be the one-mile waddle!

This is the worst time of year to be on the injured reserve list. I'm on it too. So I, like RunToFinish, am doing a lot of walking.

Hey, guess what? If you measure your walk on MapMyRun but call it a run - same amount of miles; same time - they say it burns up like 200 calories more. This is based on a 6 mile walk I did this morning.

At first I left the setting at "running" and it said I'd burned like 780 calories. Then I set it to "walking" - 550 calories!

Walking sucks! Plus I get more blisters walking than I ever did running.

Stupid walking!

I can't wait till this knee heals!

Glad you are pain free. Patience bro, have patience.

To quote the great Jimmy Norton in the 1st Spiderman "It stinks, and I don't like it!"

Or maybe Jack Torrance (the Shining)
"All rest and no running makes Jack...."!

Jim Norton... one of the great comedians of our time. I think he should have received best supporting actor for Spiderman.

I hope your leg feels better. I have decided to rest mine this week because the shin splints have been off and on... hopefully I can get them to be off!

I hope to run soon, and hopefully you will be back out there in no time!

I hope you hear good news from the doc. I can tell that you're pretty down. It sure makes me appreciate my cold and windy runs more as of late. I feel for ya.

Sry bout that tendinitis.
It's amazing how fast weight is put on when you stop running. Will biking make the tendinitis worse?

I have been running and I still put on two pounds because of the holiday food nonsense. Hang in there man.

So sorry :( I'd have to go ape$h*t on someone if I was stuck not running in the weather we'd been having.

I really feel for you. Not runing affects a lot more than just weight too LOL I've also put on my share of lbs since the 'no running' rule from my doc 2 months ago. I've been working hard on the bike but it is not the same... I really hope you'll get the green light again!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I know exactly what you mean about not running and those 'oh so good' holiday treats. My slow down on running added 10lbs to my waist. I am trying to keep it steady and after Jan 1st watch out. I will lose the 10lbs and more.
