The Philles really kicked it in the last 24 games ( 16-8.) They definitely deserved it! Howard going to get the MVP? That's one of the reasons I miss living in the big city!
Nice! I like the Phillies a lot, and it's nice to see them have this success. The Pat Gillick connection as a Jays fan is also pretty cool. Isn't he the only GM ever to take four different teams to the post season? He rocks! It'll be interesting to see what happens to him after this year, but it sure would be nice for him to go out with a World Series win! Also, Ryan Howard is awesome. In the post-juiced era he will win home run titles for many years to come.
My husband's at today's game - it's good they clinched the division yesterday - I was afraid he was going to have a heart attack watching today's game otherwise!
I grew up in Pittsburgh and loves the Pirates. They have been so bad for the last 100 years. Just kidding. Just missed the great 1970s... Willie Stargell, Dave Parker and Omar Moreno to name a few. Those were the days !!!
