I'll have a Cheesburger, Fries, Coke & a 5k !

Well, today I forgot to pack a lunch. I usually have a turkey & provolone on wheat, with fresh lettuce from our garden, for lunch.
NOT TODAY!
I was out seeing customers with a our lighting quote mgr., so with no lunch packed, we hit a Bennigan's for lunch.
I tried to be good, really I did. I had the best of intentions.. grilled chicken w/ salad was looking good, until I flipped the menu to the Burgers!
In a moment of weakness, I ordered the damn burger, and coke, knowing darn well, I was going to run later this afternoon!
Oh well, it was a decent burger, for a chain restaurant.
I will say that I think it things like this that could be tougher than some of the training runs I will do for the marathon.
I still am 2 weeks away from training, and since I don't usually run on Wednesday's, I decided to start. I ran the 5k course in Veteran's Park, the Fabulous Feet run.
I did it in 28:03 (9:02/mile).
I can guarantee tomorrow I won't have a burger & fries for lunch!

I hate having to give up a lot of the "good" food when it comes to training. My GF is already sick and tired of chicken and salad. And let me tell ya, it doesn't get any easier

Ah well.. at least it was good! The extra miles will be worth it.

I just missed you in Veterans park. I should have left work earlier.

I've found that during marathon training that I couldn't eat enough calories. I found that a burger and fries once in a while isn't a bad thing.

When marathon training is over I had to adjust to eating less.

Have a good rest of the week!

Don't worry, I had a 1/2 chicken salad sandwich and strawberry salad from Panera for lunch but didn't run today. If you balance my healthy meal and no running with your burger, fries, coke and 5k then it all averages out! ;-)

We're going to have to meet up for a training run one of these days. I would be willing to make the trip from Freehold, since your training runs all seem to be through places I was living 10+ years ago (very nostalgic). I know how you feel about the burger - don't beat yourself up too much about it - summer barbecues are my biggest vice this time of year.

That's a good post-cheeseburger run, and you probably would have felt no better after eating their chicken.

You eat the same thing every day?? LOL.

I am not usually a burger person but have been craving them lately. When I do get them I at least swap the fries for veggies or a salad.

Good job running it off!!!
