Weekend Runs

I had 2 x 6 miles runs this weekend.
Saturday, I got out with the trailruns group, to Clayton Park, and ran the hills & trails.
Clayton has some nice hills to it, and with me not being the greatest running up hills, this is a good workout, to build strength & confidence on them.
This was my last weekend run with the group for the 2 weeks.
On Sunday, I got out and did a 6 mile out and back with the new Kayano 15's!
You can only get the Kayano 15's in black at Foot Locker. They are an exclusive color to Foot Locker. They go for $140.00, but if you sign up for their free VIP card, you get a $10.00 coupon you can use it on them. I normally don't buy my running shoes at the mall, but I love the black look. I did my research, and they are identical to the white ones, you can buy everywhere.
I was pumped to get out and do a nice run in them.
It was awesome. There is nothing better than running in new shoes. They felt great, nice cushioning and stability. Asics got it right with the slight improvements over the 14's. Just the staggered lacing made a difference in how they felt.
I did the 6 miles in 48:18 (8:02 avg.), with a last mile at 7:24! I'm telling ya... it's the shoes!
Mile/ Time
1 8:06
2 8:17
3 8:09
4 8:18
5 8:00
6 7:24

Another great weekend of running, and now it's time to get ready for the Ocean Drive 10 miler, that is 2 weeks away.

"It's gotta be the SHOES!"

Nice job on that run. And super-fly kicks.

Nice looking sneaks! I'm in need of a new pair myself. I really like Asics, so maybe I'll check them out.

Nice blog. Too bad you're a Philly fan.

The pair of shoes I ran in today and plan to use for NJM is a black pair of Brooks Adrenalines. I got them cheap on eBay - I have a feeling most people don't dig black for running shoes.

I'm about to begin my quest for new sneaks as well - I figure it's a good time to break em in before the NJ marathon. Sorry I missed yet another trail run this weekend. I swear I think of you guys every Saturday morning when I'm getting up at 6:00 a.m. with my son! Their schedule just isn't gelling well with my marathon training, unfortunately. Good luck with your 10 miler - I have the St. Paddy's 10 miler in Freehold this Sunday. Looking forward to it! I hope we have nice weather.

Is black faster than white? Your pacing continues to amaze, and as much as you say it's the shoes, I think it's all you! Nice running!!!

Hmmm... maybe you are not aware of this. It could be that the Asics company secretly installed turbo power in your kicks. This propel you to run a little bit faster. I am calling in the regulators to check your kicks before you do any races.
