A Quick 6, in the COLD !

Man it felt like winter tonite. The temp here was around 40, but with the wind chill, it was closer to 32deg, when I left for my run around 4:30pm.
Six miles was the scheduled run, and I breezed thru it. My right ankle feels a bit tender, I think it's in my head.. Phantom tamper pains.
As of 7:30pm, the weather for Sunday was Mostly Cloudy & 43deg.
Not bad, just please NO WIND!

Sunday can't get here quick enough! I am ready, and the nerves are kicking a bit.
One last 4 miler on Thursday, and 1-2 miles on Saturday, if I feel like it.

6 miles 48:17 (8:02 min/mile pace)

Mile / Time
1 8:05
2 8:15
3 8:14
4 8:00
5 7:51
6 7:48

Very nice sixer in the cold. It's freezing here tonight. Rest and relax, the time to rock will be here before you know it.

Very nice pacing! That's like 5:00 kilometres, which is fast. I hope that phantom ankle leaves you alone and that you have a great few days leading up to your first marathon!

I will be out at 5:00am tomorrow, temps are supposed to be around 27 degrees.

Be prepared to be completely unproductive at work for the rest of the week, especially Friday. Congratulations if you are able to think about anything other than the marathon!

I see you have been obsessing over the weather as well.

It's freezing out there! Did you get flurries today too?

As long as we stay dry on Sunday I'll be happy.

Your splits are getting faster and faster as the marathon gets closer! Damn skippy, it was cold today. Just a few more days...

SOOO close. Hang in there. Don't let the fake taper injuries fool you. You're ready to fly through that course.

Nice pace, brother. You are the tensed arrow. pulled back with the bowstring and ready to fly on Sunday! Take care of that ankle and you'll do great. Best of luck to you. You're impatient for Sunday, but once it's over, and you have that victory under your belt, you'll be nostalgic for it, wishing it were back. So try to enjoy the sense of anticipation you're feeling now!

Again - Good Luck!

I can't wait, too!! It's going to be so cold, though. I don't do well in cold...I'll be wearing a lot of throw away clothes!

Man - you must be drinking nitroglycerin lately. I have to agree with you that the weather has been COLD. I ran this morning. It was 28 degrees with a wind chill factor of 17 degrees. I ran 6 miles just like you did but I kept my pace between 9 to 10 minutes. Nice and easy.

I also learned that you will be staying at Embassy Suites. So am I. Hope to meet you in the lobby.

BTW, my bib number is 6181.

I can't believe you're out there running in this cold shiot yo. It's freezing balls down here in NC so I don't even want to imagine what it's doing up in Philly.

Hope you got some warm gear to get you started this weekend, you may need it. Can't wait to hear about it.
