5 in the park

I got to run 5 miles in Veteran's Park in between the rain today. It's my last run before my 11st 5k of the season on Saturday.
I did the Hangover 5 mile course. Not many people in the park, with the threatening weather today. It's been on and off raining, and at times down pouring on us. Temps were in the mid 60's with a gusty wind.
I felt good running today, but as usual, no warm up, which you will see reflected in my 1st mile time. Rest assured, I will warm up before the race!
5 miles 40:39 (8:07avg.)

1. 8:41
2. 8:15
3. 8:09
4. 8:02
5. 7:29

I am jealous you got outside for your run! Wasn't it pretty humid?? When I finally found the time to run yesterday, it was after 7. So I schlepped my sorry butt to the gym and did 4 in 35 and change. I really hate the treadmill! And funny you mentioned the power class on my blog - that's the only thing productive I've done this week. One power class! Felt good - I'm still a little sore from it, and it was a couple days ago. Good luck with your 5k! PR????

Good Luck on the 5K... I am sure you are going to tear up the asphalt like a pit bull on the loose. My prediction.... 22:12

Nice run, and what a terrific last split! Looking forward to reading about your 5k race. Mine is 8 days away, and I'm getting pretty excited to run this distance for the first time "officially".

And Ted is predicting a non-PR for you by 10s? Does he know something I don't, because your training points to a PR in the 20:00 - 21:00 range. Go for it!

not stretching...definitely something I can relate to! I'm a little too impatient and when it is time to run, I can't be bothered.
Let us know how the warm up improved your race results
