Today was another 6 miler. I ran an out and back to Mercer County Park. It was a little overcast, but the temps were in the high 50's, so it was short sleeve weather.
Being St. Patrick's day, I kept my eye out for a pot of gold. I didn't find it, but I did find $2.00! That was the most I have found while running. I didn't know it was two singles, until I got home, and checked. I saw green, picked it up, and put them in my pocket.
I felt great during the run, and wanted to run the 6miles at an 8:00 min pace.
Mission accomplished!
There was quite a few runners out in the park, and I have a problem with all but one of them. Would it kill you, when a fellow runner waves, to wave, or at least acknowledge that I made an effort to be polite. The only one who gets a pass, was the guy pushing a baby in a running stroller, while holding his dog's leash. That guy had his hands full.
I plan on running 8 miles Wednesday, and another 6 on Thursday, all leading up to running part of the Ocean Drive course on Saturday.

Oh, I know! I don't think it takes that much more energy to acknowledge an oncoming runner.
I have yet to find money on a run.
Coolio on finding a little bit of gold on your run! I found $10 on the boardwalk a couple weekends ago. It paid for 2 silly boardwalk games for the girls and they each won a stuffed animal, and then some cotton candy.
I wave - if I'm close enough and really feeling it I'll even go for the high five if I'm in the middle of a long run.
I am probably going to pass on the ODM. I think my plan that day is a local long run (20-21) a little faster than my last 20. If my family wasn't around I would almost certainly be trekking down there, but I think the local LR is definitely wiser training-wise.
Nice run! And I agree totally with the waving or at least smiling thing. I don't know the etiquette for running and all that, but it seems to me that a little civility goes a long way. It's also a nice little boost to keep you going.
Nice snag on the $2!
I don't get the non-smiling thing either. I'm not trying to be friends with you. Just smile back!
You found two bucks??? That's awesome. That could be nature's way of giving you prize money for those speedy miles.
